Business controller T & A / Production companies (EN)

Core mission of the job:

The Business Controller is the sparring partner for the business. He / she works as a business controller for the T & A branch in Emmerich (± 50%) and he / she supports the Financial Director Production Companies with business control activities that concern the entire division / special projects. He / she designs and takes care of the realization of correct and reliable (steering) information, supports the decision-making process, manages risks and opportunities and gives shape to achieving the set goals of the company. The business controller is characterized by a proactive, critical and objective attitude.

Position within the company:

The Business Controller reports directly to the Financial Director Production Companies.

Main tasks / responsibilities:

  • Managing the Planning & Control cycle
  • Take care of (business economic) analyzes and advice
  • Ensuring a professional internal control framework and risk management
  • Ensuring the correct steering information and KPIs
  • Initiate process improvements

Detailed activities:

Planning & Control cycle
Coordinates the Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting cycle for his / her entity;
(Business Economics) Analyzes and advice
Discusses management reports and improvement plans with the management of the branch and the Production Companies business;
Is responsible for historical and future-oriented business economic analyses that increase insight into the results, progress and future plans by understanding, interpreting, analyzing and translating (standard) reports on the basis of business-specific information, in example by benchmarking of branches, products, customer segments and competitors with the aim to increase the financial and non-financial results of the company;
Identifies business trends, ensures insight into the consequences and makes recommendations regarding possible strategic choices;
Advises on pricing of existing and new products;
Internal Control Framework and Risk Management
Is responsible for the quality and operation of the AO-IC / Internal Control Framework and Risk Management in accordance with the guidelines of the group. If necessary, speaks to those responsible for their role;
Identifying business and financial risks and opportunities,
Identifying, implementing and testing mitigating measures and matching resultant risks with the risk appetite of the division
Control information and KPIs
Is responsible for the design and realization of the right and reliable steering information for achieving the (strategic) goals;
Assists, among other things, insight into strategic choices for the future, the translation of the strategy into SMART objectives, checks progress on the basis of financial and non-financial testing and advises management on management options;
Cost price determination
Process improvements
Creates resources and opportunities from the internal organization and external parties to achieve goals. Identifies and rolls out best practices.

Profile

  • Bachelor+ work and thinking level in the field of Business Economics or Business Administration with at least 5 years of relevant work experience;
  • Tact, empathy, and bridging opposing interests in maintaining good relationships with colleagues, managers and senior management;
  • Analytical, integer, good independent judgment, effective communication, pro-active and result-oriented
  • Good knowledge of the German and English language (both oral and in writing)
  • Has extensive knowledge and experience in a factory environment in the field of Internal Control as well as activities aimed at performance management and performance improvement
