On Wednesday September 7, Pooling Partners’ French production facility Francepal was struck by a fire in one of its buildings.

The fire began during a maintenance session of the central machinery which aspirates sawdust. Within a few hours the fire department had the fire under control. For security reasons the morning shift of personnel were sent home. The damage of one of the buildings includes the roof, one wall and the electricity network.

Already in the afternoon the electricity network was re-routed and the production of pallets and boxes could restart with the afternoon shift. There are no delays for our customers, as production itself was not affected.

At this moment in time it is investigated whether there were emission of harmful or dangerous fumes (asbestos) or gases during the fire. Together with the fire department and representative personell, our local management will evaluate the events and take precautions in order to prevent future similar situations.
